Still Proud To Be An American

Although I am not happy with the outcome of this election I can say with all my heart I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN. I am not "finally" proud, or "since the win" proud, or "for the first time in my adult life" proud...I am always proud to be an American.

I have a real problem with people who only support their country and show patriotism when their favorite candidate has been elected.....I have seen ALOT of this and it's just sad.

With that said, watching history in the making is pretty amazing. God Bless America!

Oh geeze..here I go kicking the bee hive. I don't know if this is maybe something you hear on Texas news station, but this whole proud to be an American thing is not being fully understood and/or understood out of context. I can give you a list of 10 things that make me NOT proud to be an American. This doesn't mean I hate America, or I want to go live somewhere else, or that I don't appreciate the men and women that keep me protected. Simply that I am observant, and educated enough to know and ACCEPT that this country has it's flaws. And maybe for some people finally having a BLACK AMERICAN be elected president makes them feel proud. Heck, it only took 40 years AFTER the civil rights movement for a black man to be considered let alone actually elected as President. This is a big deal. And it makes some people proud.

Tania...SHUT IT!!! You're spewing just for the sake of it! But I would expect that from my liberal friend....I suppose you are proud to be an American JUST because there is a BLACK PRESIDENT! Come on! You could have a kid that is a shit and a pain in the ass but makes good grades and is kind to people....shouldn't you always be proud to be their parent? I can't even believe I am responding to you! Why don't you try taking some time to leave some nice comments on my blog :-)

P.S. I will always be proud to be an American....even if a dem is then president and even if America makes mistakes!
