YAWN......
Okay...this is going to be short. First, I want to thank you all for your comments on my last post...Thanks for all the nice words!! Second, I AM EXHAUSTED!!! Oh my gosh...I had no idea how upside down my world was going to be. We are so tired, I cry all the time, my house feels like a strange place...but I love those baby boys!!! I can't stop staring at them in amazement...I want to smother them in kisses. But, again, I am sooo tired!! When is life going to seem normal again??

Girl, I know it! I really feel for you. It was SOOOO hard in the beginning. I don't care how badly you want to be a mom, nothing can prepare you for it. And the lack of sleep is really the issue. It gets better in a few months. Really. My life got better about 3.5 months after the girls were born and they started sleeping through the night. It will happen, it just seems to take forever. Hang in there!
Advice - If anyone offers any help - take it! My parents took the girls on Saturday nights for like 5 weeks in a row just so we could eat and sleep. And, after that period, I paid my sister for four weeks to come just one night/week and take the night shift. It was so worth the money. Is there anyone that can do this for you? Anyone that can take a shift or two during the day so you can sleep?
I'm impressed you even managed a post on the blog! I was a mess for months!! Can't wait to see pictures of your sweet boys. Congratulations!
Amy -
First off, a HUGE congratulations to you? Can you believe we're here? And they're here! Amazing...
Secondly, if you get a minute drop me an email (mountcool2000 (at) yahoo (dot) com). I lost your address, but I have a feeling we could both do with a little commiserating. Because (as you know) I get it.
Huge hugs to you. One day at a time, right? That's all we can do....
I found your blog through the Cook Twins. I can remember the days you are going through like they are yesterday, but it does get easier.
I agree with Adriane, if anyone offers help take it and do not feel guilty for using that time to sleep, take a shower or just have a little Me time, it will do wonders for you and your boys.
Hey, I just saw your comment on my last post.
I totally cried all the time, too! I kept wondering why the hell I did this to my life! You definitely WILL get through it. You will. It's just survival mode now. If you want a chat (when, right?), shoot me an email. yatescook at hotmail dot com.
I think the first three months were just awful. I know that doesn't sound too good when you're three weeks in, but honestly, there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
It's still hard now at 11 months, but it's a different kind of hard. The beginning SUCKS. Just get through it. And try to take some pictures. I don't think I took enough between months 2 and 4. Just my crappy advice. If you lived close, I swear I'd come over and do a night shift for you.
Hang in there. We're all here to listen!!!
